Balanced Living in Canada

A recent survey conducted by ADP Canada and Maru Public Opinion has discovered that work-life balance is the top priority for people working in Canada.

Work-life balance is how much time you spend with family and friends compared to how much time you spend working.

The survey found that 31% of people working in Canada think having employment with good work-life balance is their #1 priority, while 20% of Canadian workers believe that receiving a high salary is the most important priority.

According to this study, 37% of Canadian workers in the 18-34 age range said good work-life balance is their most important priority; 42% of workers between the ages of 35 and 54 expressed this view; and 38% of those 55 years if age or older held this perspective.

You can enjoy a good work-life balance living in Canada.

The marketing director for ADP Canada noted that Canadian workers, especially those who work remotely,  have changed their views significantly regarding what they value when it comes to work and what they seek from employers.

For example, 31% of remote workers give top priority to having a good work-life balance and 90% would like to keep working from home at least some of the time in the future.

A growing percentage of Canadians value a healthy work-life balance as a result of working from home during the recent COVID-19 pandemic or having to stay home during the lock-downs, both of which allowed them to spend a lot of time with their family.

It is apparent from the data that people living in Canada enjoy spending more time with their families than before the global pandemic and want to continue to balance between the amount of time they spend working and how much time they spend with family and friends.

In order to attract and retain workers, Canadian employers are trying to improve the work-life balance of their employees by letting them work from home and the office, providing flexibility regarding what hours they work and, of course, offering higher wages.

If you have been thinking that you work too many hours each week and don’t have enough time for yourself to do what you want, such as spend time with family and friends, you are not alone – Canadians are also seeking a better work-life balance!
